WURZBURG, GERMANY, September 8, 2010 – aycan, a PACS manufacturer and systems integrator for Radiology departments, and SOVAmed GmbH, a technology spin off company from the University of Koblenz-Landau and the medical technical Institute (MTI) today announced their partnership in the area of medical post processing and their first joint project, SOVA.evar.
SOVA.evar, a plugin designed by SOVAmed using aycan’s Mac based OsiriX PRO visualization software (a CE marked and FDA certified version of the successful Open Source DICOM viewer OsiriX) offers processing and visualization of medical imaging data. SOVA.evar focuses on abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) and assesses clinically relevant parameters more precisely, easily and faster than any other current market offering.
This new solution is being introduced at the 26th annual German Society for Vascular Surgery meeting(DGG 2010) taking place September 7 – 11, 2010 in Berlin and will be available as a medical certified product in the fourth quarter of 2010.
The goal of the aycan and SOVAmed partnership is to provide easy to use and safe software for the clinical workflow of vascular surgery and to make the work of radiologists in Europe and the U.S. more efficient and effective.
